Your developers ask the same questions three times. Features get built, but not the way you meant them. Now AI coding agents are joining the team, and they take your requirements even more literally than people do.
The problem usually isn't you. Text-based requirements leave too much room for interpretation.
Event Modeling replaces them with a visual, step-by-step blueprint of how your system should behave. Business people, developers and AI agents can all read it the same way.
In two hands-on mornings, you'll learn to write specifications that leave nothing to guesswork. You'll work through a real example together with the group instead of watching slides.
After the workshop, you'll be able to...
- Turn a vague feature request into a clear, visual specification
- Define exactly what "done" means using concrete examples (Given / When / Then)
- Break work into small, independent slices that a developer or an AI agent can implement one at a time
- Spot missing requirements before development starts, not after
- Run your first Event Modeling session with your own team
Agenda
Day 1: From vague idea to clear model
- What Event Modeling is, and which problems it solves (and which it doesn't)
- The four building blocks (screens, commands, events, views), explained without jargon
- Hands-on: modeling a real-world workflow together, step by step
- Finding the gaps: the questions the model forces you to answer early
Day 2: From model to specifications humans and agents can implement
- Cutting your model into slices that become your implementation roadmap
- Writing specifications with concrete examples
- What a good "agent-ready" specification contains, and how to hand it to a developer or an AI coding agent
- Keeping models up to date and avoiding common pitfalls
- Introducing Event Modeling in your team, including how to start next week
Is this for you?
A great fit if you...
- Are a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst or Project Manager who writes or owns requirements
- Keep getting "that's not what I meant" results
- See your team starting to use AI coding tools and want requirements those tools can actually work with
- Want a method you can bring back to your team, not just a theory to learn
Not the right fit if...
- You're looking for a technical deep-dive into event sourcing and implementation. For this, join the Agentic Engineer Program.
What's included
- 2 × 3 hours of live, hands-on work in a small group
- Direct expert feedback on your models
- 6-month EM-Studio License (agentic Event Modeling)
Prerequisites: None. You don't need a technical background or any Event Modeling experience. If you've ever written a user story, you're ready.
Your trainer: Martin Dilger is the founder of Nebulit and the author of Understanding Eventsourcing and Spec Driven. He helps teams across the DACH region use Event Modeling to turn unclear requirements into software that gets delivered.
